The Montgomery Biscuits weathered an outstanding game by Birmingham center fielder Tim Wood to topple the Barons, 8-6. Wood went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Melvin Cabrera recorded his 2nd save for Montgomery. With the win, Montgomery elevates its record to 2-1.

The Biscuits got a big at-bat from designated hitter Victor Villasol. For the game, Villasol was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Montgomery a 2-1 lead.

"Winning is always a team effort," Villasol said after the game.
