|
Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium was the site of the home opener for the Montgomery Biscuits. The contest featured a prime matchup between Omar Carrillo of the visiting Birmingham Barons and Billy Thomas of the Biscuits. The final score was 4-1, the Barons getting the win. Omar Carrillo turned in the best performance. Carrillo picked up the win for Birmingham, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
Birmingham relied on the hitting of Gus Lomeli to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the first inning to put the Barons on top, 2-0. For the game, Lomeli had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
