The Altoona Curve racked up a win at People's Natural Gas Field, bumping off the Bowie Baysox, 2-1. Brad Brown, who started for Altoona, pitched effectively for his team. The third-place Curve sport a record of 70-63.

In the bottom of the ninth, Chris Patterson had a chance to play the hero. And he did, socking a run-scoring double off Bowie pitcher Mike Schou.

"This place sure got loud," said Robert Rodriguez, the Altoona manager.
