Yard Goats Prevail, 4-2, Over Binghamton
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Hartford Yard Goats get after it.
The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 4-2, in Eastern League action at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Hartford pitcher Al Beauman had a standout performance. D.J. Meyers, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 29th save.
The Yard Goats got a lift from left fielder Gerald Meunier who had a 2-run double in the bottom of the first inning off Ethan Adams. It was his 18th double of the season and put Hartford in front, 2-0.
Binghamton manager Kyle Lacy said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The 4th-place Yard Goats go to 59-60.
