The exploits of center fielder Sean Waltner helped the Syracuse Mets defeat the Rochester Red Wings, 9-2. Waltner went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Syracuse reliever Jin-woong Yoon picked up the win, upping his record to 10-1. Luis Suniga shouldered the loss. The North Division-leading Mets are 104-33.

Waltner had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the eighth when the 23-year old center fielder hit a 3-run home run. The home run gave Syracuse the lead, 9-2. It was his 1st home run of the season.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Waltner. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
