Red Sox Edge Past Bulls, 3-2
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Durham Bulls, 3-2, at McCoy Stadium. The win was due in part to first baseman Ivan Cantu, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win belongs to Willie Angulo in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Tim Spader took the loss for Durham. Today's win puts Pawtucket at 39-94, while Durham falls to 50-83.
The Red Sox beat the Bulls with some clutch hitting. The single by Milo McCoy in the bottom of the eighth is a good example. With two down, McCoy gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"Bottom line," said Durham skipper Dylan Rucker, "we didn't play well enough to win."
