Albuquerque Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Albuquerque and El Paso, pitcher Steve Flood was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. The winner in relief was Dave McCarthy. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The Isotopes, at 57-45, sit in second place in the Pacific Conference South Division.
In the bottom of the ninth, Mike Goodridge had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring single to center off El Paso pitcher Devin Alexander.
Afterward, Isotopes manager Logan Linder was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
