The El Paso Chihuahuas overcame a fine performance by Sacramento second baseman Pat Gettys to defeat the River Cats, 7-6, at Southwest University park. Gettys went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Jordan Serrano was credited with the save for El Paso, his 22nd of the season. El Paso is now 59-33.

Kevin Elliott took David Zarzuela deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Chihuahuas on top, 2-1. In all, Elliott had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
