The El Paso Chihuahuas overcame a good performance by Fresno left fielder Steve Fahey to knock off Fresno, 6-5, at Southwest University park. Fahey went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. El Paso now has a record of 56-35 with the win.

The Chihuahuas got an important contribution from left fielder Mike Hughes, who in the bottom of the first knocked a full count fastball into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Chihuahuas ahead, 3-0.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said El Paso manager Dan Butler.
