Express Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Round Rock Express took San Antonio pitcher Dan Forcht's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The final score had Round Rock getting past the Missions, 3-2. Forcht went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 11. Tommy Athey earned save number 1 this season. Round Rock sits at 3-4.
Round Rock used the timely hitting of Ben Roughley to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 14th inning to put the Express on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"It was a test of wills," said Tae-yung Ahn, the Round Rock skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
