Araya Tames Athletics, 7-0
|
The Texas Rangers went home winners at Globe Life Field, thanks in large part to starter Ramon Araya. Araya stifled the Oakland Athletics, enabling Texas to grab the 7-0 win. The Rangers sit in first place in the American League West Division with a record of 95-63.
Araya was in the zone all game. He frustrated Oakland hitters while giving the Rangers 8.1 innings of quality work. Araya threw 121 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 13 punchouts.
"Ramon had swing-and-miss stuff," said Texas manager Hemerson Serven.
