Astros Top Expos in Extras, 4-2
|
This fight went fifteen rounds and the Astros came out the winner.
The Houston Astros picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the Montreal Expos, 4-2. On the mound for Houston was right-hander Eric Paoletta, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Sam Grace in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Mike Stevens took the loss.
The outcome might have been different for Houston, had it not been for Dan DeCarli, the 2037 Rookie of the Year Award winner . DeCarli stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 15th inning to put Houston up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 7, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I like how we battled to the end," said DeCarli.
The first-place Astros are 93-63.
