Slumping Twins Lose Again, 2-1
|
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Bobby Belmonte was in fine form, leading his team past the Minnesota Twins, 2-1. St. Louis has a record of 83-68, placing them second in the National League Central Division.
Going deep for St. Louis was Jesus Gutierrez. The shortstop had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Cardinals. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Gutierrez was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Losing feels worse," said Minnesota manager Taylor Hyssong, "than winning feels good."
