A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Angels.

The Cleveland Guardians stymied the Los Angeles Angels, 5-2, at Progressive Field. Manny Matos had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs for Cleveland. Bobby Bassett recorded his 31st save for Cleveland.

Cleveland took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, second baseman Dave Colburn hit a solo home run that fired up the crowd.

"I thought we played a nice game," Matos told the Cleveland Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Cleveland is now 65-82, Los Angeles 61-87.
