Rangers Clip Mariners, 5-4
|
Texas picked up a win at Globe Life Field, toppling the Seattle Mariners, 5-4. Pitcher Jim Brown was one of the reasons the Rangers triumphed. Texas reliever Andy Burns picked up the win, raising his record to 8-6. Dan Liggins was tagged with the loss. Texas is now 87-59, while Seattle is 82-64.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, catcher Jaylen Keal won it for Texas. With a runner on 2nd, Keal hit a 2-1 fastball from Dan Liggins for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"Winning is the only objective," said Brown after the game.
