Rangers Defeat Athletics, 7-3
|
Texas picked up a win at Oakland Coliseum, bumping off the Oakland Athletics, 7-3. Pitcher Andy Boaz was a major reason the Rangers emerged victorious. Texas has a record of 85-58, placing them second in the American League West Division.
Texas used the bat of Jim Fleming to get the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Boaz.
