The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, knocking off the Los Angeles Angels, 5-0. Starting pitcher Jamie Brass was a big reason why. Brass went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-2. The last-place Twins now have a win-loss record of 52-90.

Minnesota right fielder Steve Masters said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth. He did more than that -- Masters hit a solo home run to stake Minnesota to a 1-0 lead. His 19th home run of the season came off Los Angeles pitcher Andy Schreck.

"They played a better game than we did," said Los Angeles skipper Mark Weist.
