Guardians Suffer 7-2 Setback
|
Colorado Field was the site for National League action featuring the Cleveland Guardians and Colorado Rockies.
Colorado rode a decent outing from starter Erik Mullins to victory over the Cleveland Guardians. The final score was 7-2. Mullins, now 12-5, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Eddie Zahrt took Bobby Gershen deep with no one out in the bottom of the first. On a first pitch fastball, Zahrt drilled a 2-run home run to left. It was his 26th home run of the season and put Colorado on top, 2-0.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Mullins said.
The Rockies now have a mark of 81-64.
