Blue Jays LF Morris hits 2 home runs in Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees, 4-2, at Rogers Centre. Toronto left fielder Dan Morris had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Kevin Hight got the win, improving to 5-12. He held the Yankees to 2 runs on 2 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Toronto currently is in last place in the American League East Division at 49-94.
Morris had a key at-bat in the bottom of the first to put Toronto in front, 3-0. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Morris.
