Getting a good performance from right fielder Felix Bocanegra, the New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox, 7-1. Bocanegra was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Yankees. The win was credited to Nesty Huerta in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Oscar Soto took the loss. Tyler Gough notched his 6th save in 10 chances.
Art Werth helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Yankees.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Werth said.
With the win, New York upped its record to 83-55.
