Orioles Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Dan Mann pitched a near no-hitter in leading Baltimore to a 1-0 triumph over the Texas Rangers. The third-place Orioles raised their record to 68-65.
Mann, a native of Washington, Indiana, was dealing all game. He kept Texas hitters off-balance, while giving the Orioles 8.2 quality innings. Mann threw 149 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 9.
"Good win for us," said Mann. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
