Mancilla Lifts Guardians to 5-3 Triumph
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Cleveland Guardians and Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cleveland Guardians stopped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-3, at Progressive Field. The Guardians got a big game from Eddie Mancilla, who belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Bobby Bassett picked up the save for Cleveland, his 28th of the year.
Cleveland took the lead on Mancilla's 37th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Dusty Hildreth in the bottom of the eighth, made the score 5-2, Cleveland.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Cleveland skipper Mike Jacobs. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
The Guardians improved to 56-75.
