Cleveland Drops Another One, 5-1
|
Cesar Ruiz never let the Guardians get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Athletics to a win, 5-1. The winner in relief was Mike McClain. He is now 7-5. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Oakland now sits at 56-70, while Cleveland falls to 52-73.
Oakland took a 3-1 lead on Rodolfo Rosales's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Cleveland pitcher Andy Ackerman in the bottom of the seventh.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Cleveland manager Mike Jacobs.
