The Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 1 got a superb performance from pitcher Eric Koeppen, but the Miami (DSL) Marlins still won the game, 4-3. Koeppen threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Octavio Molina earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 2-4. Omar Ramires picked up the save, his 3rd.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Alex de Jesus hit a 1-1 slider from Leo Campos for a run-scoring single. It put Miami (DSL) in front, 4-3.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," de Jesus told the Miami (DSL) Today.

The Marlins sit in 5th place in the Boca Chica Northwest Division with a record of 36-61.
