Fenway Park was the site for Dominican Rookie League action featuring the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 2 and New York N (DSL) Mets 1.

Getting a good performance from designated hitter Josh Beard, the New York N (DSL) Mets 1 defeated the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 2, 10-6. Beard was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6 for the Mets 1. New York N (DSL) reliever Joselito Covarrubia picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Bob Alley took the loss. Ted Peterman was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.

Beard had a go-ahead hit in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Mets 1 trailing 4-3, he stroked a 2-run triple.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Beard said. "That's how it goes."
