Bannister Booms 400th Homer
|
It's official. Zion Bannister of the New York Mets hit his 400th home run tonight.
The New York Mets took on the Colorado Rockies and downed them 7-5, but the big story of the night was the milestone home run for Bannister. He rounded the bases with a smile and politely stepped on home plate and walked back to the dugout.
"400 is a big number, and I am thankful for the ability to get to this milestone. But it's all about the team today, my accomplishments are just one piece to the Mets puzzle."
The Mets center fielder went 1-for-1 with 1 home run and 3 runs batted in as the New York Mets topped the Colorado Rockies.
Bannister has played in 2292 games and is hitting .253 lifetime with 1160 RBIs, 2152 hits, 305 doubles, 60 triples, and 400 home runs. He has scored 1322 times and stolen 464 bases.
