Blue Jays Down Mariners, 5-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at T-Mobile Park, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 5-3. Starting pitcher J.D. Copeland was a big reason why. Copeland picked up the win for Toronto, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-9. Toronto is now 38-67.
Toronto used the bat of Danny Alvarez to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Copeland said. "That's how it goes."
