Astros Stun Rangers, 3-1
|
The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Eric Nunez, but the Houston Astros still prevailed, 3-1. Nunez threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Houston reliever Esteban Vizcaino was the winner. His record is now 6-1. Andy Burns took the loss. The Astros move to 58-42 with the win, while the Rangers drop to 66-36.
Houston used the clutch hitting of Chris Dillon to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Astros ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Dillon said after the game.
