Rosales Tags Islanders for 5 Hits
|
Oscar Rosales was at the head of a Georgia hit parade today at Estadio Guillermo Hernandez. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Rhinos to a 13-3 victory over the Puerto Rico Islanders.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Rosales told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Islanders skipper Michael Evans said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Oscar Rosales singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Presently Rosales is hitting .385 with 4 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 25 games and scored 11 times.
