Rockies Hammered by Armento, Fall Further Behind in LCS
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Christian Armento, the Pittsburgh Pirates flattened the Colorado Rockies, 14-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. Armento was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2 for the Pirates, who now lead 3-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Trailing 3-2, Pittsburgh had a change of fortune in the top of the fifth inning. That's when Chris Waring sent a 2-2 forkball into the stands for a 3-run home run. The longball put the Pirates on top, 5-3.

"That was a nice win," said Armento. "To quote my grandma, 'Good gravy!'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Colorado Field in Denver.
