Blitzed by Waring, Pirates, Rangers Sink Further in WS
|
Behind the big bat of left fielder Chris Waring, the Pittsburgh Pirates have opened up a healthy early lead in the World Series. The Pirates topped the Texas Rangers 5-2 at PNC Park today in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Waring went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once to power Pittsburgh to victory.
Waring had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Pirates. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Pittsburgh trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Waring.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
