Diamondbacks Go 10 Innings to Beat Minnesota, 3-2
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Target Field.
In a close game at Target Field, the Arizona Diamondbacks edged the Minnesota Twins, 3-2. Arizona first baseman Bob Peterson stood apart with his performance. He went 4 for 4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Josh Tanner recorded his 1st save for Arizona.
Peterson had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 0-1 fastball from Vinny McFarland, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Diamondbacks a 3-2 lead. It was the 25th double of the year for Peterson.
In postgame remarks, Peterson simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
Arizona, at 40-46, holds down 4th place in the National League West Division.
