Round 2 Sweep to Stripers
It was a glorious moment for Stripers fans today as Gwinnett claimed the 2040 Round 2 title with a 4-3 victory at Coolray Field.

Jubilant Gwinnett players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the Syracuse Mets, as chants of "Thank you, Stripers" reverberated all around the ballpark.

In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Mets skipper Jose Mosquera told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the Round 2.

"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."

For the Gwinnett Stripers, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 87-53, good enough for first place in the South Division. Then they topped it off by winning the Round 2 3-0.
