Rangers Hammered by Petite, Drop Game 4 to Expos
|
The League Championship Series is tied at 2 games apiece, thanks to a dramatic walk-off victory at Olympic Stadium today for the Montreal Expos.
24-year-old right fielder Nate Petite was the star for Montreal, as he belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 in the Olympic Stadium contest. The 10-9 Montreal triumph allowed the team to even the best-of-7 series with the Texas Rangers at 2-2.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Jonathan Barber had a chance to be the hero. Texas pitcher Francisco Crispin had other ideas. But with two outs, Barber hit a run-scoring double. The Expos had themselves a dramatic win.
"It all comes down to execution," said Montreal manager Takeru Furumoto. "Baseball 101."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Olympic Stadium in Montreal.
