Pirates Earn 5-3 Win Against Nationals
|
Nationals Park was the site for National League action featuring the Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Washington Nationals, 5-3, at Nationals Park. Pittsburgh left fielder Judson Fabian had a superb performance. He went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Pittsburgh is now 55-25, Washington 33-48.
The most important at-bat for Pittsburgh came in the top of the tenth inning, when shortstop Maximo Acosta stroked a 2-2 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Pittsburgh up, 4-3.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Fabian.
