Nolan McLean impressed in the 5-3 Cincinnati win over Chicago. McLean, who finished 3rd in the AL in home runs with 56 in 2032, went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Cincinnati reliever Josh White was the winner. His record is now 5-1. Jon Blackwell took the loss. The Reds, at 43-37, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.

One of their superstars provided one of the highlights for Cincinnati. It happened with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Sean Rouse, who is tied for 5th in the NL with a .905 OPS, hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 fastball from Jon Blackwell to put the Reds up, 5-3. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Rouse attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
