New York Beats San Francisco, 3-0
|
Oracle Park was the site for National League action featuring the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets.
New York Mets starter J.J. McNamee was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Francisco Giants, 3-0. Nader Lugono finished to wrap up his 4th save.
There were several reasons the Mets beat the Giants, but one factor was Ben Long. In the top of the third, the New York right fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said New York manager Hunter Smith.
The first-place Mets have won 4 in a row.
