Waring, Pirates Too Much for Nationals
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates grabbed a win, 11-2, over the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. Pittsburgh left fielder Chris Waring was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Pittsburgh has now won 4 games in a row.
Waring contributed when he hit a double in the top of the sixth. Coming with no outs and a runner on 1st, the double proved to be critical to helping Pittsburgh get the win.
Postgame, Pirates manager Matt Kata complimented Waring. "No question about it. Toad was terrific."
