Pittsburgh Pirates starter John Pittman hurled his team past the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-0. Pittman went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 9-2. The 'W' lifts Pittsburgh's record to 52-24.
Chris Waring put Pittsburgh in front, 2-0, when he hit a solo home run off Chris Griffiths in the bottom of the seventh. It was his 16th home run of the season.
