Yankees Lose to Blue Jays, 6-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays topped the New York Yankees, 6-3, with left fielder Dan Morris playing a big role. Morris went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 for the Blue Jays in the win. Josh Potts got the win, improving to 3-5. He held the Yankees to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Earning his 18th save for Toronto was Pat Davis.
In the bottom of the second, Toronto catcher Chad Ignas had a big at-bat. With one out and a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. For the game, Ignas went 1-3 with a double.
"Good to pick up this win," Ignas said.
The Blue Jays are now 29-45, while the Yankees fall to 45-30.
