Close Win Moves Mariners to 40-33
|
Seattle starter Joe Berg had a strong outing against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Dan Liggins sewed up the save, his 12th. With the win, Seattle raised its record to 40-33.
Ben Holst gave Seattle a good at-bat in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to help send Seattle to the win.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Los Angeles manager Mark Weist. "We'll get this thing turned around."
