In a low-scoring affair between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, pitcher Mike Rasing was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Yankees win. With the win, New York raised its record to 42-27.

The Yankees were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when third baseman Alex Sandoval turned a 2-2 sinker from Marc Triplett into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave New York a thrilling 3-2 win.

"It was a solid team effort," said Sandoval after the game.
