West Michigan Draws First Blood in Round 2 With 3-1 Win
The West Michigan Whitecaps powered past the hometown Beloit Snappers, 3-1, in the opener of the Round 2 at Harry C. Pohlman Field today. West Michigan starting pitcher Jordan Holley threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Whitecaps now lead the series 1-0.

In the top of the first, Jeremy Kroeze jumped on a fastball from Greg Curry and hit a run-scoring double. It gave West Michigan a quick 1-0 lead.

"We are one step closer to our ultimate goal of bringing a title back to the people of West Michigan," Kroeze said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Harry C. Pohlman Field in Beloit.
