Win Extends Rangers Lead to 2-0 Over Tigers
The Texas (DSL) Rangers moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Detroit (DSL) Tigers at Texas Rangers Complex by a score of 6-4. Rangers shortstop Josh Kessinger did some major damage. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Rangers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 2.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Rangers sent 21-year-old third baseman Darren Watson to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Texas (DSL) on top, 4-2.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Watson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, September 14th , 2040.
