Late Magic Gets Milwaukee 5-3 Win
|
The Milwaukee Brewers took Washington pitcher Franklin Sarmiento's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nationals Park. The final score had Milwaukee getting past the Nationals, 5-3. Sarmiento went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 2. Milwaukee occupies third place in the National League Central Division at 32-29.
This game was not decided until Alex Riojas came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, the Milwaukee shortstop grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Brewers took the lead, 4-3.
"It was our day today," Riojas told the Milwaukee Bulletin. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
