Peterson hits 2 home runs in Blue Jays Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1, at Busch Stadium. Toronto right fielder Brad Peterson had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Josh Potts, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-5. The Blue Jays sport a record of 24-37.
With Toronto leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Peterson hit a slider from Tony Locey for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Peterson said.
