Guardians Topple Red Sox, 6-4

Behind a solid performance from left fielder Doug Palmer, the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Boston Red Sox, 6-4. Palmer was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Guardians. Xander Mercer, now 4-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Cleveland is now 25-36, while Boston is 25-37.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Guardians grabbed the lead when Palmer hit his 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Josh Radcliff made it 6-4, Cleveland.
Palmer said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
