Guardians Beat Twins, 4-1
|
Starting pitcher Jared Nettleton was a major factor in the 4-1 Cleveland Guardians triumph over the Minnesota Twins. Nettleton picked up the win for Cleveland, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-6. Bobby Bassett, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.
Cleveland right fielder Manny Matos contributed to the cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Matos was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Cleveland manager Mike Jacobs. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Guardians move to 22-36 with the win, while the Twins drop to 24-34.
