5 Straight Wins for Astros
|
The Houston Astros topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-6, with youngster Chris Dillon playing a key role. Dillon went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Astros in the win. Esteban Vizcaino got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Robby Drexler recorded his 5th save for Houston.
Manny Madrid chipped in for Houston, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning a ballgame these days," losing manager Scott Lieser told reporters, "is harder than big game hunting without a gun."
The win puts Houston at 25-25 this season.
