Toronto Still On the Schneid After 1-0 Loss to Astros
|
The Houston Astros topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 1-0, in American League action at Rogers Centre. The standout performance belonged to Houston pitcher and Santa Clarita, California, native Gil Eddins. Eddins picked up the win for Houston, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. The misery continues for the Blue Jays, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
Houston took the lead with two out in the top of the second when Jeff Teague stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0 in favor of Houston. For the day, Teague went 1-3.
"I've never been a good loser," admitted losing manager Scott Lieser, before walking out on reporters.
